Health Lottery Tickets
Health Lottery (now known as The Big Win) tickets can be purchased online or from authorised Health Lottery retailers for up to five weeks in advance. Tickets purchased online are stored in your Health Lottery online account and are checked automatically with winnings of £2000 or less automatically paid into your player account.
Health Lottery tickets expire 180 days after the date of a draw, so you will need to claim any prizes you win before this deadline.
About the Health Lottery
Unlike UK Lotto, EuroMillions or Thunderball, the Health Lottery isn’t a national lottery. It is comprised of 12 society lotteries each representing local authority areas across England, Scotland and Wales. The local authority areas are selected in rotation to be the beneficiary of funds raised through ticket sales and are then used for health-related good causes.
Health Lottery is a 5/50 game, with a Bonus Ball also selected from the remaining 45 balls to create even more prize categories.
Special Prize Draws
If you enter a draw on a Wednesday or Saturday, your Health Lottery (now known as The Big Win) numbers will also be placed into a special extra draw at no extra cost. Five numbers between 1 and 50 are selected at random, and you win if you match all five numbers. The prize is worth £100,000 on Wednesdays, while Saturday free draws offer £475,000. These prizes are shared if there are multiple winners. There are no other prizes available in free draws.
How to Play the Health Lottery in 3 Easy Steps
Step 1:
Pick your numbers
To play the Health Lottery, you need to choose five numbers from 1 to 50.
It’s up to you whether you select your own numbers or opt for a Quick Pick, in which case you will receive a random set generated by the computer. Add more lines to boost your chances of winning.
Step 2:
Choose which draws to play
Select which draws your numbers to be entered into. You can play just one draw day, all five, or anywhere in between.
Decide how many weeks to play (up to a maximum of five), or play continuously by setting up a direct debit so that you never miss a draw.
Step 3:
Purchase your tickets
Pay for your tickets at a cost of £1 per play. If you play online, your numbers will be stored safely in your account.
If you play in a shop, you will need to keep your tickets safe until the draw has taken place and you have checked the results.
