Set For Life & Cash4Life Comparison

Cash4Life is an annuity lottery played in the US that has been popular for many years. It differs from Set For Life in several ways - the top prize in Cash4 Life is $1,000 a day for life or a lump sum payment of $7 million.

You have to pick from more numbers in Cash4Life, five from 1 to 60 and a Cash Ball from 1 to 4. This makes the odds of landing the jackpot better in the UK’s Set For Life. In Cash4Life, there are draws every day rather than just twice a week.

About Set For Life

The Set For Life lottery was launched in 2019 to give UK players a different sort of game to enjoy. Rather than playing for a one-off jackpot, Set For Life allows you to dream of winning a five-figure sum every month over a long period of time, giving you extra financial security. The prize adds up to £3.6 million over three decades.

Set For Life is a double-matrix game, so you have to select five main numbers from 1 to 47, plus a Life Ball from 1 to 10. There are eight Set For Life winning combinations.

Prize Capping

All the prizes in Set For Life are fixed amounts, but there is a limit to how much can be paid out in total to jackpot winners. This cap is set at £16 million, which would require at least five players to match all the numbers. If this ever happens, each winner will be given the choice as to whether to receive their share of the £16 million as an annuity or a lump sum.

There are eight different prizes in Set For Life. As well as the jackpot, there is another annuity prize in the second category. If you match all five main numbers without the Life Ball, you will be rewarded with £10,000 every month for one year.

Super Chance Draws

The National Lottery can announce Super Chance draws at any date, making it more likely to win the top prize. In these special draws, you also win £10,000 a month for 30 years if you match five main numbers without the Life Ball. The odds of winning the top prize therefore improve to 1 in 1,533,939. If the top prize is not won in a Super Chance draw, another Super Chance draw will be held in the next draw.
